You can seek compensation for a drunk driving crash

You were minding your own business when another person's bad decisions influenced your life. A drunk driving collision can come out of nowhere. Maybe you were driving home after work or heading to school in the morning when it happened, or perhaps you were a pedestrian simply crossing the road. Whatever the case may be, you are in a position to file a lawsuit against the driver and to make a claim for compensation.

A dram shop case is one where you try to hold the person who sold alcohol to a drunk driver responsible for the accident. For instance, if an obviously intoxicated person was served alcohol after becoming drunk at a bar, leaves with his keys, gets in his car and collides with you, then you should be able to file a claim against the facility for knowingly serving the person more alcohol and not trying to stop him from leaving when he was obviously intoxicated.

You may need to prove a few things in a case like this. These might include the proof that the facility sold alcohol to the patron, proof that you suffered injuries, proof the individual who was drinking suffered injuries, proof of a proximate cause between the sale of alcohol and the person's intoxication and proof the intoxication itself was at least one of the causes of the injuries and damages you suffered.

If you're ready to hold people responsible for their negligence, you may want to begin gathering all the documents surrounding your case. Our website has more information about drunk driving collisions and how you can get the compensation you need.
