You can be compensated after a rollover accident

If you're traveling and are suddenly impacted by a vehicle that has lost control and rolled, you're likely to be shocked and could potentially be dealing with serious injuries and damage to your vehicle. How do accidents like this happen? What can you do to get the justice you deserve? These are very important questions to have answered.

How do rollover accidents take place?

Rollover accidents happen only in very specific circumstances. For instance, a tall, narrow vehicle that has too much wind pushing against it at a high speed is more likely to tip over to the side than a short, fat vehicle that has more weight and less height.

A single-vehicle rollover accident doesn't usually happen because of a problem with the driver's steering. Instead, it might be because the vehicle hits something that starts to put it on an angle. Here's an example. If a large semi truck is moving along at a high speed on the highway and hits a curb, the tipping caused by the curb could cause the vehicle to tip over, particularly if the elements, like wind or rain, are working against it.

It's been estimated that around 95 percent of rollover accidents are a result of this action.

Tire grip can play a role in rollover accidents, too. Most people think that the better the grip, the less likely it is that a vehicle will move out of alignment, slide or slip on a road's surface. In reality, too much grip can actually lead to rollover accidents, because the tires grip the road well even in an unusual position, adding to the force of the tipping motion.

If you are struck by someone who has lost control of his or her vehicle, you are within your rights to seek copmenstion from him or her. Your attorney can help you and our website has more information.
