Child hit by a car in Iowa dies in local hospital

If you or a loved one is hurt or killed in a pedestrian accident, then you may be concerned for the future. Medical bills, funeral costs and other kinds of needs can add up, and that's why it's important to seek compensation from the negligent party. If you are hit by a car, you deserve to be able to take care of yourself while you recover.

In this tragic accident, one family is faced with the death of their child in Iowa after he was hit by a car on a road in Osage. According to the news, the five-year-old child was hit by a car on May 3 when an elderly woman was driving. The little boy had been on the roads, although it wasn't clear where exactly he was located along Chase and 5th Street or how he entered the roadway.

The Iowa State Patrol reported that the child was hit by a 73-year-old woman from Osage as she was visiting a garage sale. The little boy may have been in the roadway due to the massive garage sales taking place. The area was having a citywide garage sale at the time of the accident, and the 73-year-old woman had been pulling out from one of the sales when the accident took place.

After the incident, the Osage Police and Ambulance services arrived with the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office to respond. A state trooper reported that the child was meant to be flown by Mercy Air Med to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, but he unfortunately passed away at a hospital in Osage before he could be taken. Police have not reported any citations for the 73-year-old woman, but if negligence is found in this case, she may be found to be at fault for failing to yield to the child.
